                    THE RING

 

What are the chances of a soldier during World War Two finding a small blue ring in the desert? A ring lost by an Arabian Princess in the North African desert in 1330.  Great Uncle Francois did just that whilst changing a tyre on his jeep.  On his return to England he gave it to his then girlfriend, Great Aunt Ruth, who treasured it throughout the years.  After many years living in France she visited England for the wedding of the oldest of her two great nieces.  She lost the ring, only for it to be found by our brave and kind girl who was good at finding things.  With the help once again of the wise woman she gets taken back to 1330, to the desert somewhere in North Africa.  It is a cruel and lawless time with lives treated cheaply, but her challenge in this time is to return the ring to the beautiful Princess Amira, to prove to her that her life is in danger from her possessive father, the Caliph, who, with his army, is in pursuit of his daughter and her rescuers.  Can the help of an adventurer from this time, Ibn Batutta, known only in the East, and the chance encounter with an adventurer from the West, Marco Polo, help our girl to rescue the Princess?  Can she help bring about a unison between East and West?  Will our girl make it back to the future and to wear the awful pink meringue dress her sister plans to make her wear as bridesmaid?

                    THE LETTER

The third book in 'The Finder Series' sees our heroine one year older and braving the open seas after finding an aged letter deposited long ago in the secret drawer of an antique desk belonging to the new family in the street.  She is taken back in time to 1630 and after finding herself in the West Indies, boards a ridiculously 'small wooden duck boat' to journey to Plymouth Colony in North America.

Once again, she meets the wise woman, who requests her help to return the letter accidentally lost long ago and to bring together two estranged brothers, John and James Jenney.  Following a tropical storm at sea, which badly damages their ship and blown well off course, she braves and then befriends Native American Indians who help her and the gallant Captain of the 'Little James' supply ship to the Americas, Emmanuel Altham, travel overland to Plymouth Colony.  She learns many new life skills whilst travelling with her new friends.  Will she help to avoid a tribal war being started by a French spy posing as a fur trader?  Will she fulfil her destiny yet again and manage to right the wrong between the two Jenney brothers?  If she only knew what her destiny was.  If she only knew what it meant...

         THE MINIATURE

 

The second book in 'The Finder Series' sees our kind, brave girl, one year older yet still changing her name as the mood takes her.  She is not happy though, as she faces a whole month of her precious school summer holidays away from 'the gang'.  She must travel with her mother to Northern France as her injured Great Aunt Ruth, whose doctor has ordered to spend a month of bedrest, needs to be nursed.  

Whilst exploring in her mother's aunts garden, she finds the miniature of a beautiful young girl from long ago.  Once again, she is taken back to another time, this the time of the French Revolution where she meets with the mysterious wise woman.  1792 is the year, she is given a dangerous mission to try to rescue three women from a family at the centre of the French Court.  With the help of a young Napoleon Bonaparte and her 'brother' in this time, Phillipe, dare they also try to rescue the French Royal Family, King Louis the sixteenth and his infamous Queen, Marie Antoinette and their two children from certain death by guillotine....

           THE SHIELD

 

People lose their belongings. That is a fact of life. It can happen by accident, but sometimes it can happen when you put them in a very safe place and forget where that safe place is. Not many people are good at finding them again.

The Shield is the first story in The Finder Series, taking our heroine on extraordinary journeys back in time. Her first adventure takes place in Medieval England in 1340 where she meets King Edward III, his wife Philippa and their son, who will later become the Black Prince.
